On the bridge towards Notre Dame, crossing the Seine, locks of all varieties adorn the chain-link. Couples in love are performing this little ritual to display their love publicly. I’m not sure how seriously they take it, but there they are. Every month, someone comes and cuts most of them off. Some of them look like they’ve been there a long time, so I don’t think they cut them all off. I guess I think it’s kind of cute and much more sanitary than the gum at Juliet’s Balcony in Verona.
